Kindergarten Summer Homework
The kindergarten connection.
We all are feeling the excitement as summer break approaches but there is another thing on most teachers’ minds… keeping skills sharp while the kids are away. This Kindergarten Summer Homework pack of math and literacy activities will keep your students learning while still having fun over break. The kids will love the variety of engaging, summer-themed printable activities so much, it won’t even feel like “homework.” So let’s bring on the summer fun!
*You can grab these fun printables right now in our shop , or hop on over to purchase them on Teachers Pay Teachers !
If you’re already thinking about gathering resources that review Kindergarten standards, then this Kindergarten Summer Homework pack is exactly what you are looking for. It will help keep students learning over the long break and requires little to no prep – just print and that’s it!
Plus, all activities are in black and white and require no color ink or laminating so they can be ready in a pinch.
What’s Included?
This HUGE pack of summer-themed activities contains 91 pages of low-prep math and literacy printables designed for Kindergarten students in the summer before 1st grade.
Turning this resource pack into a summer workbook for kids to take home? Simply attach the included cover page and print 2-sided to use less paper. The pages that require cutting and pasting are at the end of the download for this reason (so as not to cut/paste on a double-sided page).
It also includes a reading log and a tracking sheet for students to color in each time they complete a page!
Check out a few of the math and literacy activities in this Summer Homework printable pack below…
Letter Lemonade
Learning the letters in the alphabet and how to write them are skills that we work on all year and it’s important that kids continue building these skills over the summer.
This simple handwriting activity will help students strengthen handwriting skills as they write the alphabet on the lemons. Plus, this pack includes both an uppercase and lowercase version !
Summer Graphing
My kids are always excited for graphing games and activities so I know this summer-themed graphing printable will be a hit. They also love coloring so this activity is definitely a win-win!
The directions are simple. Count the fun summer items and color in the graph. Then the kids can discuss the results with a grown-up, using the questions at the bottom of the page.
Rhyming by the Sea
It is important to keep scissor skills “sharp” over the long summer break and this Rhyming by the Sea activity will help your kids do that while also practicing CVC words and rhyming . For this activity, kids read the words on the buckets and cut and glue the rhyming words on the shovels that match. This themed printable will bring the beach fun straight to your students.
Summer Word Problems
If there is one skill I hope my students continue to practice over break it is reading (even if it’s just a little bit each day). Short, simple word problems like this will have your kiddos reading and strengthening important math skills! This activity is a hit because the students can use the space below the word problems to draw pictures to help them solve their equations!
